The developer and operator for the railway network connecting the Oman and UAE invites specialized Contractors to apply for the prequalification for tendering of the civil works. To apply for prequalification, the potential Contractor(s) must demonstrate individually or in JV/Consortium that they have the necessary resources and required expertise to meet the requirements as follows:
A. Be a local company or a JV/Consortium led by local company registered in UAE or Oman to deliver the package(s) in the relevant country.
B. Have recent experience executing projects of a similar size, nature (earthworks, structures, track works, tunnels, freight facilities, stations and depots etc.) in particular:
I. On time completion to the required quality
II. Construction in a railway environment
III. Design and build experience
IV. Mechanized track work experience
The prequalification documents will be available for purchase and downloading through an e-payment services gateway from: March 13, 2023 until March 27, 2023 for a non-refundable amount of AED 50,000 or 5,240 OMR (excluding VAT).

The first package includes the design and construction of the railway itself, the second includes the construction of amenities and stations, while the third includes the construction of various project facilities in preparation for the main tender. OERC will lay out the project’s foundations and implementation action plan, including the timetable and financing mechanisms. Then, OERC will supervise the design, execution, and operation of the railway connecting Sohar and Abu Dhabi, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations adopted by the two countries.
